Welcome to the 2008 Newark Evening Cricket League.
As the second half of the evening league starts, Balderton and Ransome and Marles are the top two teams in the A Division with just 1 win separating them. Both teams won this week with Ransome beating the Newcastle Arms thanks to a 57 Not Out from Mahod. Balderton won with greater ease after Collingham failed to raise a side. Fiskerton won the final fixture this week beating Farndon who’s 105 runs wasn’t enough to secure a win.
In Division B, there is 1 point between the top 3 with Claypole leading on 14 points, Walesby, who lost to Claypole this week are 1 point behind, level with Thurgarton. Laxton also registered a win this week beating Kavaliers.
In Division C, Caunton and Southwell are at the top of league, level on 14 points, 3 teams follow on ten. 2 of those teams, Brant Broughton and Wellow both won against The Nelsons Ashes and Newark Rugby club respectively. Depending on the yet unknown result between Southwell CC and Newark CC, Southwell could go 4 points clear at the top of the table.
